Normal-tension glaucoma reasons

Despite the fact that its purpose is not absolutely understood, normal-anxiety glaucoma is commonly believed to occur either due to an unusually fragile optic nerve that may be broken notwithstanding a regular pressure internal the eye or due to decreased blood float to the optic nerve.

Unusually fragile optic nerves may be inherited.
Reduced blood flow to the optic nerve can be because of problems of the blood vessels (called vascular sicknesses), which includes vasospasms and ischemia.
Vasospasms are spasms or constrictions of the blood vessels.
Ischemia is decreased oxygen brought to the tissue, in this case the optic nerve, because the blood vessels are both narrowed or obstructed.
